Recycled Denim

I made this small quilt for the back seat of my car. I cut 8" squares from old denim jeans and sewed scraps of fabric around them to add bits of color. The backing was also denim scraps someone was getting rid of and the binding was leftover from other quilts. This quilt is totally green using material that might have otherwise gone in the trash. I wanted a throw for the backseat of my car, that was durable and I could shake off after a trip to the park with the dogs. The dogs always appreciate my efforts. It's certainly not my best work, nor is it my favorite fabric to work with, but it serves a purpose. Now if the dogs would just sit still, so it could do its' job.

Denim would probably make a good dog bed too, because it's durable. I have a dog that can turn fleece into lace, sucking it like a binky, so save the fleece for doggy sweaters and use denim instead. Recycle, reduce, and reuse. It's green and cheap too!
